Fisher-UTM Teaching Collection
The Fisher-UTM Teaching Collection is a curated collection of rare books and print material from the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library and acquisitions to support hands-on learning, bibliographical instruction, and historical inquiry at UTM. The collection contains representative examples across time periods, formats, and genres, primarily from Europe and North America. The Collection includes early printed books, bindings, typography samples, and paper types to demonstrate the development of book printing. It also holds a variety of bibliographical features containing title pages with varying conventions, colophons and printer's marks, marginalia and provenance marks, errata slips, and advertisements. Finally, the Collection covers several genres and subjects, such as religious texts, scientific works, literature, travel and exploration, pamphlets, and ephemera from the sixteenth to the twentieth century.
The Fisher-UTM Teaching Collection is an ongoing collaboration with the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library to provide access to rare and unique materials to students, faculty, and staff at UTM in the teaching and learning.
